I have noticed lately - it seems like most of the people I know that rail against the "western mindset" (consumerism, cultural pop, save the world ego) are the ones that suffer from it the most, they just have cleverly hidden it - wrapped it in a warped view of social justice or something.
Or maybe they just go and buy everything at the thrift store - not thinking about the impact they are having on the people that NEED to shop there. Out of need - - not popularity. But we have a segment of society that have no other means to cloth themselves competing with a 24 year old kid that wants to buy from the thrift store because its cool. And the cool kids rail against the western mindset that has fraught the world with greed ... yeah right! As if the world would be better without America. What's up with that.
That is consumerism at its worst isn't it........any thoughts :)
